Lori Lindgren, 61, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Devils Lake near Perham, MN.
Lori Ann Norheim was born April 7, 1963 in Cando, ND. The family lived at Rocklake, ND. When she was 7, they moved to Fargo. She graduated from North High School and then attended Moorhead State University. Lori married Joel Lindgren on August 5, 1983. She worked as the business manager at First Lutheran Church before the couple established their home in Lakeville, MN in 1991. She graduated from Metropoliton State University in St. Paul and worked for Boston Health Care for 22 years as their CFO. Lori and Joel moved to Perham, MN in 2013 where they enjoyed life on Devils Lake. She worked for Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls and later at Sanford in Perham. Her most recent position was managing Dollar Tree Stores for the last 5 years.
Lori's pride and joy was her family and her grandson, Cal, was the light of her life. Her hobbies included fishing, cooking, reading, and wearing her endless collection of jewelry. She liked to travel, with Europe and St. Martin being two of her favorite destinations. She also traveled to Haiti several times on mission trips for the non profit "No time for poverty."
Survivors who will miss her dearly include her husband Joel of Perham, MN; daughter Darby (RJ) Cervenka of Rice, MN; grandson, Cal; parents Marlene and Daniel McKinnon; siblings Dawn (Chris Johnson) McKinnon and Shannon (Shawn) Dye; niece McKenzie (fiancé Braeden Wanzek) Dye with their daughter Lyla and niece Sydney Dye; sister-in-law Mary (Brad Gorman) Lindgren with their sons; and family pups Charlie and Abby.
Lori was preceded in death by her father Mike Norheim.
A Celebration of life will be Friday, Sept. 13, 2024 at 3 PM at West Funeral Home Chapel, West Fargo with visitation one hour prior.
