Lori Rasmussen, 56, passed peacefully at her home in Lehi, Utah, on August 6, 2025. Born November 18, 1968, in Fort Hood, Texas, she was the oldest of eight children born to Garold and Lana Seamons.
It is with deep love and gratitude that we celebrate the life of Lori Rasmussen-a woman whose every day was a quiet testament to kindness, patience, and genuine care for others. Lori passed away at her home surrounded by her family, whom she loved with all her soul.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Louie Rasmussen, and their four children: Alex (Laura), Zach (Taylor), Jake (Kensie), and Anna (Todd) Gray. She was the proud grandmother of six treasured grandchildren-her beloved "grand-buddies"-who brought her endless joy and laughter.
Lori's life was defined by her unwavering ability to see the best in people. She was one of the most nonjudgmental souls you could ever meet-always giving others the benefit of the doubt and offering encouragement with genuine sincerity. She had an extraordinary gift for recognizing people's talents and quietly lifting them up. Whether through gentle words, a thoughtful compliment, or a quiet act of service, Lori made everyone feel seen, valued, and loved.
There was no moment in Lori's life untouched by service. During the holidays, she could be found baking, sewing, or crafting heartfelt gifts for family and neighbors-always purposeful, personal, and filled with love. One of her signature gifts was homemade pumpkin pies, made entirely from scratch using pumpkins she grew herself. She gave them to people she thought could use a delicious pie and a reminder that someone cared. Receiving a gift from Lori was a joy, but the true gift was the love she poured into it. That love was the most lasting and meaningful part of everything she gave.
Lori faced a five-year battle with cancer that brought constant pain, sickness, and fatigue. Yet her love for her grand-buddies knew no limits. She jumped on the trampoline with them, lay on the floor to build puzzles, played games, and went sledding with them year after year. Nothing was more important to her than family. Despite all she suffered, she continued to put her family first and chose to serve them with unwavering love.
More than anything, Lori loved her Savior, Jesus Christ. She was devoted to following Him and sought to emulate His love and compassion in all she did. Her kindness, patience, and unwavering service to others were a direct reflection of her discipleship and faith. As a newly called Primary President responsible for approximately 240 children, she memorized every name and face. When those children saw her at school, in the store, or at a sporting event and said hello, she would greet them by name-making each one feel important and loved.
She was famous for her delightful sense of humor-whether sneakily turning the Relief Society clock ahead to wrap things up on time, declaring made-up "national holidays" just because she could, or hiding pop-its under the toilet seat for April Fools (sorry, daughter-in-law!). She was a Sorry board game champion-nearly unbeatable-and had a knack for turning everyday moments into cherished memories. To know Lori was to feel unconditionally loved. Her legacy is one of pure goodness and an endless capacity to uplift and inspire. Through her words, her example, and her laughter, she taught us how to treat others with grace, kindness, and joy.
