Lori Carol Henry Richardson, 64, of Rockingham, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2026 at her home.
Mrs. Richardson was born July 30, 1961 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Bobby Lewis Henry and Geraldine Faye Kelly. She had worked with Cafco Industries as an upholsterer, later in life advocated for the disabled and was a bocce and bowling coach with Special Olympics. She was a graduate with honors from Richmond Community College and Summa Cum Laude from University of Pembroke. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Shawn Michael Richardson.
Surviving are her daughter, Christena Powell and siblings, Richard Jones, Lisa Walls and Robin Edwards.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 – 7:00 pm Friday, February 6, 2026 at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham.
Memorials may be made to Special Olympics Richmond County, 129 Glen Rose Drive, Rockingham, NC 28379.
