Lori J. Johnson Sholly, 65, of Sedalia, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.

She was born the fourth child, and only girl, to Mitchell and “Betty” (Spitzbarth) Johnson. She was born and raised in Cherokee, Iowa.

She graduated High School in May 1978. She then went on to attend LeMars School of Cosmetology, graduating May of 1979, and receiving her license in June.

On June 24, 1979, she married Louis Sholly. In March of 1987 Lori moved to Sedalia, MO. She loved hugs, giving gifts to others, and helping in any way she could.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, two brothers: Lyle T Johnson, and LaVern D Johnson, as well as many other loved ones.

Lori is survived by her husband, Louis P. Sholly; one brother, Lowell G. Johnson (significant other, Vivian); six nephews, Chris Johnson (Ghazal), Ben Johnson (Katie), David Johnson, James Johnson (Amanda), Scott Johnson (Melian), and Greg Johnson (significant other, Whitney); two nieces, Andrea McIrvin, and Danelle Greer (Dean).

She is also survived by three great-nephews, and six great-nieces, who are the joy of her life: Keaton Greer, Arthur Johnson, Jack McIrvin, Alexa Johnson, Kaelyn Greer, Evie Johnson, Mari Johnson, Emilia Johnson, and Charlotte Johnson.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 8, 2025, at Heckart Funeral Home, where funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Minister Seth Tyler officiating.

Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the family, in care of Heckart Funeral Home.
