Loris Lee Wiersig departed this life to begin life with her Savior on March 12, 2024 at the age of 93. Loris was born in Enid, OK, January 29, 1931; the daughter of Art and Anna Panhorst.
She attended school in Enid and graduated from Enid High School in 1949. She was employed at the F.W. Woolworth office in Enid until her marriage. In 1950 she married Hue Wiersig of Alva Oklahoma. They were married 56 years before his death in 2006. Loris owned and operated the "Craft Fairs by Loris" for about 10 years. She and her husband owned and operated "The Oklahoma Tackle and Fishing Show" at the Fairgrounds for 25 years. Loris was a charter member at Messiah Lutheran Church and remained an active member until her death. She was a volunteer at "The Christmas Connection" for 25 years. She enjoyed her membership in the "Show and Tell Hobby Club".
She was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Audine and Don Behnken of Forest Park, IL; a brother, Allen Panhorst of Enid, OK.
Loris is survived by her children: daughter Patti Spain and husband Steve of Oklahoma City; son David Wiersig and wife Phyllis of Poteau, OK; daughter Peggy Robbin and husband Jeff of Bigfork, MT; and son Doug Wiersig and wife Michelle of Huntsville, AL. Grandchildren, Shannon Habermehl of Tulsa, OK; Shaun Lambert of Piedmont, OK; Emily Miller and husband Billy of Corinth, TX; Josh Wiersig and wife Brook of Poteau, OK; Dustin Burnett of Bozeman, MT; Heidi Robbin of Nashville, TN; and Fred Wiersig of Huntsville AL. Eight great-grandchildren: Jack and Patrick Habermehl, Hollan and Marlowe Lambert, Oliver and Nora Wiersig, and Annalise and Asher Miller.
Services will be held at Concordia Life Care Community in Oklahoma City on March 23 at 2:00pm. Burial will follow at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Messiah Lutheran School in care of Messiah Lutheran Church in Oklahoma City.
