Lorita Chauvin Pitre

Lorita Chauvin Pitre, 90, born October 10, 1935, a beloved wife, mother, and lifelong resident of Dulac, Louisiana passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving daughters on Wednesday, October 22, 2025.
A visitation will be held in her honor on Monday, October 27, 2025 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Dulac, Louisiana from 9:00 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. The burial will follow in Holy Family Cemetery Number 2, Dulac, Louisiana.
She is survived by her daughters, Christine Gonzales and husband Terry, Angela "DoDo" Gill and husband Ricky, and Donna Lottinger and husband Britt; grandchildren, Travis Gonzales and wife Raquel, Kiley Gonzales, Allicia Luke and husband Ernest, Brandon Gill and wife Kristina, Donavon Gill and wife Allison, and Paxton Lottinger; 15 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great grandchildren; and sister, Elsie Henry.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert "Pete" Pitre, Jr.; parents, Hewitt and Allicia Chauvin; sister, Della Chauvin; granddaughter, Baby Girl Gonzales; and godchild, Della Authement.
Lorita and her husband, Herbert "Pete" Pitre, co-owned and operated Pitre's Texaco Station in Dulac for 30 years, serving their community with dedication and a welcoming spirit that made everyone feel like family.
She was a devoted parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church, a proud member of the Holy Family Ladies Altar Society, and was also affiliated with the Dulac VFW, where she cherished the friendships and fellowship she found there.
Known for her sharp mind and quick wit, Lorita remained "sharp as a nail" right up until her final days. Her strength, humor, and grace left an unforgettable mark on all who knew her.
