Lorraine M. Anderson age 85 of Detroit Lakes, MN died October 7, 2025 at Pelican Landing in Detroit Lakes, MN.
Lorraine Marlys Anderson was born August 14, 1940 in Detroit Lakes, MN to Leo and Mildred (Landgren) Vizenor. She grew up in Richwood Township, where she attended the Bakke School. She later attended Detroit lakes High School. On April 1, 1958 she was united in marriage to Noel Anderson. They made their home on a farm north of Audubon, MN. Lorraine then attended Audubon High School, graduating in 1959. She and Noel later moved to a farm in Richwood Township, where they farmed and raised their family. Over the years Lorraine worked at the Red Owl Grocery Store in Detroit Lakes and later for SJE Rhombus in Detroit Lakes.
Lorraine moved into Detroit Lakes later in her life and thoroughly enjoyed it when her grandkids and their friends would stop in to visit her. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and making Lefse. She also enjoyed music, with Doug Kershaw being a favorite artist of hers.
She is survived by two sons, Nyle (Tracy) Anderson, of Burlington, WI; and Rhys (Sheila) Anderson, of Detroit Lakes, MN; four grandchildren, Taylor Anderson, Alexa (Michael) Anderson-Kelley, Gabriel Anderson, and Amelia Anderson; one sister Jeanette Streander; two sisters in law, Teresa Vizenor and Maxine Larkin; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Noel; grandson, Noak Anderson; and one brother, Larry Vizenor.
