Lorraine T. (Rego) DiFonzo passed away peacefully on August 2, 2023 at the tender age of 94. Lorraine lived a blessed life filled with love, laughter and countless memories that will forever remain etched in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. Lorraine had a very deep faith praying daily to her Lord Jesus Christ, the Blessed Mother Mary and her favorite saint, Saint Anthony. She was a parishioner of St. Barbara's Church in Woburn for over 45 years.
Born on June 11, 1929 in Cambridge, MA. Lorraine was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Dias) Rego. Lorraine is preceded in death by her beloved husband and best friend of 59 years Xavier (Sal) DiFonzo. Lorraine and Sal started their life's journey In Somerville, MA but settled in Woburn where they raised their 4 sons, Dan of Texas, Bob and his wife Paula of Texas, Frank and his wife Vickie of Maine and John of New Hampshire. She is the grandmother of Buddy, Michael, Andrew and Morgan. Great grandmother of Lola Bett, Gemma, Gigi, Lucy, Dominic and Lily. Lorraine is also survived by her beloved puppy, Cassie.
Funeral from the Cota Family Funeral Home, 335 Park St. (corner of Park St. and Rte. 28) North Reading, at Reading line, on Wednesday, Aug. 9th at 9am. Funeral Mass in St. Barbara's Church, 138 Cambridge Rd., Woburn at 10am. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, Aug 8th from 4-7 pm in the Funeral Home. Interment Calvary Cemetery, Winchester. In Lieu of flowers please consider making donations in Lorraine's name to Gosnell Memorial Hospice House, 11 Hunnewell Rd. Scarborough, ME. 04074.
