Lorraine Doderer

Lorraine Selvage Doderer, age 85, of River, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 3, 2026.

Lorraine was born on February 14, 1940, in Paintsville, Kentucky, to the late George Selvage and Elizabeth Spencer Selvage. She was the youngest of seven children. Having completed her earthly journey, Lorraine is now resting in peace with the Lord, reunited with those who have gone before her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Adolf Ludwig Doderer, and by her brothers, Otis, Ora, Ollie, and Oddie Selvage, and her sisters, Delphine and Clotene Selvage.

Lorraine is survived by her five sons, Carl (Barbie), Rudolf, Michael (Ginger), Hans (Angelia), and Victor (Shirl) Doderer; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; two step–great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A devoted homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother, Lorraine dedicated her life to caring for her family. She found joy in crafts, cooking, Western movies, and music-especially the songs of Elvis Presley. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family, particularly during birthdays and holidays.

Lorraine was a faithful member of St. Michael's Catholic Church of Paintsville for several years.

Funeral Mass is scheduled for 2 P.M. Sunday, February 8, 2026 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Paintsville. A private entombment will be held at the family property following the Mass. Friends may visit at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home on Friday February 6, 2026 from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M.; on Saturday from 12 Noon until 8 P.M.; and she will lie in state one hour prior to the Funeral Mass at St. Michael's Catholic Church from 1 P.M. until 2 P.M.
