Lorraine Foder Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Costantino-Primo Funeral Home on Jan. 9, 2024.
Lorraine M. Foder of West Berlin, NJ, passed away on January 5, 2024 at the age of 77. She was preceded by her parents, William and Louise Hart of Audubon, NJ and her brother, William Hart of FL.
She leaves behind three children: Matthew (spouse-Danielle) of The Woodlands, TX, Joseph (spouse-Melanie) of Marlton, NJ, and Brian (spouse-Viba Nguyen) of Philadelphia, PA. She was the cherished grandmother (mom mom) of Megan, Michael, Matthew (deceased), Makenna, Korban and Lorraine.
Lorraine was born July 2, 1946, and grew up in South Philly until her family moved to the suburbs in southern New Jersey. Her maternal grandparents came over from Italy through Ellis Island, and Lorraine was able to visit NY later in life to see that part of her family history. It meant the world to her to visit there and see where and what her family experienced when arriving to the US.
Growing up in S. Philly, her brother and she would sell water ice in the local neighborhood to earn some money for the family. After she graduated high school, she married Joseph Foder whom she later divorced. During her life, she worked for several different companies doing multiple jobs to support her three boys, but her main occupation was working in human resources.
Lorraine lived a very simple life. She found peace and joy tending to her yard and garden at home, reading books, and never missing an episode of General Hospital. But the two things that brought her the most joy in her life were her family and her church. She was a long-time member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church which later became Saint Simon Stock Parish. She enjoyed attending Saturday evening mass with her dear friends. She frequently would light a candle at church in prayer for all her children and grandchildren.
Her favorite traditions every year were cooking Thanksgiving dinner and making lasagna with gravy, meatballs and sausages for Christmas day. She will be greatly missed by all those who have had the pleasure to call her mom, mom mom, or friend.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Memorial Mass on Saturday. January 13, 2024 at 11:00AM at the Saint Simon Stock Parish Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 178 W. White Horse Pike, Berlin, NJ. Interment will take place privately. Arrangements under the direction of COSTANTINO-PRIMO FUNERAL HOME, BERLIN NJ.
