Lorraine Heffernan

Lorraine Heffernan, known as Rainy to her friends and Obby to her grandchildren, passed away after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by love.

Born in Englewood to Larry and Betty Dotson, Lorraine was a longtime resident of Ridgefield and most recently resided at the Five Star Senior Residence of Teaneck.

She was married for 63 years to her husband, Tom Heffernan, who preceded her in death in April. Together they built a life rooted in hard work, and family.

Lorraine worked alongside her family at the Dairy Queen and the Jingle Inn bars. She was the heart of her family and a devoted grandmother who treasured time with her grandchildren. She was greatly looking forward to the birth of her first great-grandchild this March and to the marriage of her middle grandchild, Tyler, to Sarah.

She is survived by her son, Tom Heffernan of East Wallingford, VT, and his wife Tammy; and her grandchildren, TJ, Tyler and his fiancée Sarah Socia, Tim and his wife Katherine.

She was well loved and will be greatly missed by her family.

Per her wishes, Lorraine will be cremated, with a small celebration of life to follow in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lorraine's memory to Villa Marie Claire Hospice, Saddle River, NJ.
