Lorraine Kay Hoover

Lorraine "Babe" Hoover, 68, of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away peacefully at home on January 29, 2022. She was surrounded by loved ones at the time of her death.
Lorraine was born and raised in Pueblo, Colorado. She attended Beulah Heights Elementary School, Pitts Middle School, and graduated from South High School. Lorraine married her high school sweetheart, Frank Hoover, at a beautiful ceremony in 1971. She and Frank raised their two children, Kristy and Chad, in Pueblo and Fountain, Colorado.
She was a doting mother, providing her children with a full and happy childhood. Lorraine was always involved in her kids' lives. She could often be found at the ballpark, and made sure Chad had the whitest uniform on the baseball field. She was affectionately referred to as the "house mom" for Kristy and her college roommates over the years. Lorraine ensured that her home was a welcome meeting place for her children and their friends, always plenty of food and laughs. She and her husband also took their kids on many vacations where they learned to appreciate the world around them.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, Ramona and Ivan Lentz of Pueblo, Colorado.
She is survived by her husband, Frank; two children, Kristy and Chad (Laura); as well as four grandchildren, Kenadie (15), Sydnee (12), Ember (11) and Griffin (4). She is also survived by her siblings, Larry (Judy) Lentz of Aurora, Colorado, Joe (Kathy) Lentz of Colorado Springs, and Linda (Terry) Boatwright of South Carolina; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and countless friends.
Babe loved animals and spent a significant amount of her time participating in conservation efforts, regularly contributing to support the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. She would have had a yard full of goats, sheep, chicken, llamas, dogs, cows, and any other animals that she could find if Frank would have approved.
The family asks that donations be made in lieu of flowers to the ASPCA, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, or any animal rescue of your choice.
