Stoughton, WI- It is with heavy hearts, that we announce the loss of Lorraine Johnson. Lorraine passed away at age 100 on December 24, 2023 at her home for the past ten years, Stoughton Meadows Assisted Living. She was born August 8, 1923, in Milwaukee and was the daughter of Josephine and Stanley Opalewski.
Lorraine married William Johnson on June 9, 1942. Throughout the years Lorraine was a caring and loving wife and mother of five children. Being widowed at age 54, Lorraine continued raising her then 8-year-old, youngest child, Bill. Over the years, Lorraine’s loving wisdom and guidance as the matriarch of the Johnson-Opalewski family was truly a blessing. The compassion, empathy, and kindness she displayed to others was complimented by her wit and humor. The family was thankful to be with her as she celebrated her 100th birthday in August. A life well-lived that will be deeply missed by many.
Lorraine is survived by her son, William (David) Park; daughters, Carol Konzal, Jill Edwards, Barb (Patrick) McNally and Lori (Robert) Devine; grandchildren, Krista (Ryan) Hopkins, Tracy (Dwayne) Robinson, Dana (Bryan) Pelz; and great grandson, Christopher. She is also survived by her brothers Tom (Flo) Opalewski, and Jim (Judy) Opalewski.
