Lorraine Lang Obituary

Published by Vincent Funeral Home - Providence Forge on Dec. 9, 2008.
LANG, Lorraine, 71, of Lanexa, Va., was laid to rest by the Lord on December 7, 2008. Lorraine started her journey in Shirley, N.Y., where she met her love and survivor of 48 years, Ronald Lang. They joined together and traveled to Virginia to start a life, where she worked at Parent Child Development Center (PCDC) for 22 years as a bookkeeper. They expressed their affection together with the birth of their four loving and surviving daughters, Nina Wallace (Scott) of Lanexa, Va., Bethany Davis (Robert) of Panama City, Fla., Ronda Foster (Troy) of New Kent, Va., and Laurie Tolley (John) of Lanexa, Va. The foundation of family and tranquility expanded to her surviving and loved grandchildren, Edwin Wallace, Joshua Davis, Ashton Wallace, Olivia Foster, Tiffany Tolley, Adeline Foster, John Wesley Tolley, Clara Foster and Sofia Foster. She struggled for a couple of years with myeloproliferative blood disorder, and even though her mind was worried, her love for her friends and family spread far, deep, and was never neglected. The good Lord answered her prayers, and in two days, she was peacefully at rest before she left this earth. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, Va. A funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, also at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, Lorraine would have appreciated donations made in her memory to the MPD Foundation, 233 S. Wacker Dr., Suite 375, Chicago, Illinois 60606 (www.mpdfoundation.org).

Dear Ronnie and family -
We were so sorry to hear of Lorraine's passing. Please know that she will live on through her family and through those memories she leaves of herself.

The memories I have of her during our childhood Holly Point visits will stay in my heart forever - that infectious laugh of hers, the melodic way she entered a room, her soft yet enthusiastic demeanor - these are my most vivid memories of your dear Lorraine.

With each passing day I hope your pain will lessen ever so slightly so that you can focus on each of those endless memories you forged together. Know that she is there - in each one of you, with each one of you, and in the hearts of many. Once again, we are so very sorry for your loss - you will remain in our thoughts and prayers throughout this very difficult time.

Always,
Dana Baggan-Golliver
and family

Ronnie and Ronda, Beth, Laurie and Nina and families:

Rolf and I were so sorry to have to miss the funeral and to not have the Lang side of the family represented for Lorraine in this sorrowful time. You-all were truly in our hearts and minds that Thursday. Lorraine was a beautiful woman who was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Who knew that former New Yorkers could make their way to Virginia and enjoy such long and happy lives there?!

Ronnie, we hope to see you and your family in the Spring of 2009. You will all be in my thoughts in this holiday season as you progress in your grief over your loss, indeed a loss for us all.

Love and hugs to each of you ~

Your cousin, Dianne Lang Brown
