Xander J. Coger, 21, of Toano, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 11, 2025. He is survived by his mom and stepdad, Kimberly and Christopher Galloway; dad, Matt Coger; brothers, Aiden and Alex; grandparents, Frank M. "Papa" and Sandra "Nana" Dimes, Lisa Galloway, Lynn and Chris Harrell; aunts and uncles, Stacey (Vinnie), Sean (Bree), Becky and Larigene (Tamara); as well as many cousins.
Xander graduated from War Hill High School in 2022. He went on to attend an electrical apprenticeship school through K&K Electrical where he worked for four years. Xander was working towards obtaining his Journeyman's license. He was a hard worker and purchased his beloved truck last year, on his own.
Xander enjoyed spending time fishing, Wednesday Wing Night, and time with his best friend, Akasha Gaynair. He was a remarkable big brother to Aiden who looked up to him. They enjoyed time together playing Madden and MLB on the Xbox.
Xander was a huge sports fan rooting for Ohio State, the Dallas Cowboys, and Nascar racer Kyle Busch. He also played softball and kickball. He had a close bond with his Papa Dimes, playing ball in the backyard, and hanging out in the garage working on the truck, talking, and watching sports. He was an exceptionally loving grandson to his great grandma before her passing in 2023.
Xander had a huge heart and showed kindness to everyone. He was always willing to give a helping hand to family friends and strangers. The impact of his thoughtfulness, love and devotion to his family will never be forgotten and will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Friday, October 17th at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, VA with the funeral service beginning at 12 p.m. Burial will follow in Williamsburg Memorial Park.
Please join the family for fellowship at the Williamsburg Moose Lodge, 5429 Richmond Rd, Williamsburg, VA 23188, following the burial.
