Lorraine "Lorrie" M. Rooker, age 68, of Plymouth, WI, passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday morning, April 9, 2023 at Aurora Sheboygan Medical Center in Kohler, WI.
She was born on October 1, 1954, to the late Raymond and Rosella (Burmeister) Ernst in Greenbush, WI.
She graduated from Plymouth High School in 1972 and went to work for Sargento Cheese Company until December of 1972, then moved on to work for Borden's (DFA) for 44 years.
On July 2, 1977, she was united in marriage to Gene R. Rooker at St. Fridolin's Catholic Church in Glenbeulah, WI. Gene and Lorrie later joined St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth, where they also lived.
Lorrie was an excellent cook and took great pride in making meals for her husband. She was a talented baker and enjoyed making fresh baked goods and desserts for others. Aside from her busy life, Lorrie loved traveling, sewing, watching the Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers, and collecting various items such as: painted horses, dolls, knick-knacks, and jewelry.
Lorrie is survived by her loving and dedicated husband of 46 years, Gene; four sisters, Anna (Roger) Schneider of Kewaskum, Linda (Thomas) Schwinn of West Bend, Mary Perman of Plymouth, Eileen (Roland) Hoftiezer of Plymouth; one brother, Robert Ernst of Greenbush; brother-in-law, Gary (Roxanne) Rooker of Plymouth; and sister-in-law, Sandy Nauth of Kiel.
Lorrie will be missed dearly by her nieces and nephews, Cindy (Jason) Fendrick, Julie (Ryan) Syse, Ricky (Natasha) Ernst, Ryan (Nicole) Ernst, Shawn (Christine) Schneider, Jamie Schneider, Andrew (Tammi) Perman, Joseph Perman, Rebecca (Jon) Foster, Austin Ernst, Alex Ernst, Dylan Ernst, Adam (Jill) Rooker, Amy Gerrish, Renee Madson, and Roxanne Nauth; great nieces and nephews, Ethan, Aaron, Alyna, Mya, Lyza, Raedyn, Riley, Tanner, Colton, Emma, Micah, Carter, Ellianna, Skylar, Zoe, Amalia, McCartney, Evelyn, Kendall, Alex, Julia, Emily, Nicole and Tony.
Lorrie was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Barbara Kirst (Ray Kirst, Rochus Voeller, Elgene Nuhlicek); three brothers, William Ernst, Richard (Joann) Ernst, and Roger Ernst; nephews, Scott Schneider and Ryan Nauth; brothers-in-law, Richard Perman and Richard Nauth; and special dog, Walker.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday (April 17, 2023) at St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth. Visitation will take place from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM, with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Plymouth.
The family would like to thank the Home Instead Care Team for their kindness, help, and compassion, and also to Anna Schneider, Linda Schwinn, and Eileen and Roland Hoftiezer for their dedicated love and care. Lorrie may your spirit be free like the wild horses you love. Not good-bye but until we meet again!
