Lorraine Evelyn Routhier, 95, of Derry, NH, passed away on February 1, 2026.
How do you sum up the wonderful life of an incredibly amazing woman? Lorraine lived all of her 95 years in Derry, NH and was very active in the town and her children’s lives. She was President of the Junior Women’s Club in NH. She was also a volunteer for numerous organizations, including but not limited to, St. Thomas Aquinas School PTA and more. She was a registrant for the Town of Derry for over 40 years with a short time as a Supervisor of the Checklist.
For careers, she was a legal secretary while her two older children were young and owned and managed T & M Laundromat during the time that her two younger children were born and into their late teens.
Her extreme fortitude was evident in her surviving open heart surgery in 1990 and her battles won over breast cancer at 80 and 83.
She had an amazing smile that endeared her to everyone. At her last residence of Birch Heights in Derry, she was loved and respected by all. That sums up Lorraine: to know her was to love her.
Lorraine is predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Roland Routhier. She is survived by her four children: Richard and Mona Routhier of Naples, Florida, Deirdre Laplante of Kingston, NH, Renee Routhier of Derry, NH and Michele and William Schurman of Hopkinton, NH. She also has four grandchildren: Deanna Putman, Danielle Shanahan, Justin Routhier and Matthew Laplante as well as four great grandchildren: TJ Bearden, Jacob Putman, Evelyn Phair and Dominic Routhier. There are also 2 great great grandchildren: Chase and Charlotte Bearden.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Matthews Church on 2 Searles Road in Windham, NH at 11:00am on Friday, February 20, 2026. A meal will follow in the Parish Hall and all are invited.
