On March 1, 2025, Lorraine M. Rudinski completed her earthly journey and entered into the joy of heaven. While our hearts are saddened, we take comfort in knowing that she now walks in the presence of our Lord, surrounded by His boundless love and peace.
Lorraine was born on April 4, 1937 in Shamokin, PA to Walter Smallets and Alice Domanski. She grew up in Spring City, PA and graduated from Spring City High School in 1955, where she played the clarinet in the marching band. As a teenager, she worked at the local creamery, scooping ice cream-where she got the cherished family "Kreation" ice cream scooper. After high school, she worked for Bell Telephone.
She met the love of her life, Lloyd L. Rudinski, who was born in Phoenixville, PA. They were wed on December 13, 1958 at Sacred Heart Church in Royersford, PA. They loved dancing together every weekend. Their journey took them to Buffalo, NY, where they welcomed their first daughter, Crystal, then to Homer, NY, where they had two more daughters, Wendy and Lori. They eventually returned to Pennsylvania, settling in King of Prussia, where they designed and built their home. Under Lorraine's stewardship, their home was impeccably maintained, including landscaping that won a local award.
Catholic faith was at the heart of Lorraine and Lloyd's lives. They were devoted parishioners of St. Augustine and Mother of Divine Providence Catholic Churches and were deeply involved in the Worldwide Marriage Encounter program. They attended daily Mass and enjoyed coffee with friends at McDonald's afterwards.
Together, Lorraine and Lloyd owned and operated Tri-State Specialties Inc., installing stage curtains and window shades in schools throughout the tri-state area. Through their business, they also proudly sponsored a championship softball team, serving as its owners and #1 fans.
Lorraine and Lloyd were adventurers at heart, traveling the world and spending winters as "snowbirds" in Naples, Florida, with Lorraine's brother Walter Smallets. They went on many cruises, visiting places like Alaska, Hawaii, the Baltics, Russia, and Europe. They always made sure to stop at the local religious sites and shrines, including Lourdes in France.
Family was the greatest joy for Lorraine and Lloyd. They were devoted parents to their three daughters, supporting each daughter in her own unique activities. Lorraine and Lloyd never missed a grandchild's event, even learning the rules of soccer to cheer them on. Lorraine loved to spoil her grandchildren with gifts: Christmas presents that overflowed from the tree, massive Easter baskets, and countless souvenirs from travels.
Lorraine and Lloyd always prioritized faith and education. They instilled in their children and grandchildren the importance of achieving in the classroom, and Lorraine made sure that Lloyd had his wallet ready to reward their grandchildren when they came home with a good report card.
Lorraine was known for her warm, boisterous hellos, endless conversations with friends (and strangers), and big cuddly hugs. She was an incredible cook and baker, renowned for her delicious Sunday family dinners, Polish meals, and famous Christmas cookies. Lorraine loved her country and was proudly patriotic. She also had a passion for grammar, earning her the affectionate nickname "GRAM-mar" from her grandchildren.
Lorraine is survived by her three daughters and their husbands: Crystal and Joe Gasper, Wendy and Tom Higgins, Lori and Keith Anderson; grandchildren: Stephanie, Robert, Tyler, Katie, Mike, Chris, and Tommy; and brother Walter Smallets; great-grandchildren: Timmy, Lyanna, and Mary Kate, as well as many extended family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd L. Rudinski on September 4, 2024; and her parents Walter and Alice Smallets.
A Catholic funeral mass will be held on Thursday March 6th at 10:00 a.m. at Mother of Divine Providence Catholic Church, 333 Allendale Rd. King of Prussia, PA.
May Lorraine's soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Arrangements are by the Bacchi Funeral Home and Crematory, Brideport PA.
