Lorraine (Stange) Sonstrom passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 15, 2026 with loving family by her side. Lorraine was born on May 23, 1928 in Bristol where she was a lifelong resident. Lorraine was predeceased by her partner and husband Clarence (Tiny) Sonstrom, her parents Ludwig Stange and Wanda Helming Stange, her brothers Richard and Raymond Stange and her sister Gertrude (Stange) Zurell. Lorraine (or Lolo to the younger generation) is survived by many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews. Lorraine attended school at Immanuel Lutheran School (at the 1924 original school) and graduated from Bristol High School Class of 1946. Lorraine worked at the William L Barett Co. and then with her husband at the Dickau Bus Company until her retirement. Lorraine was a devoted member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she lived a life of service. She enjoyed being a member of the Altar Guild, the Ladies Aid Society, the Women's Missionary League, and the Senior Saints/Young at Heart Group. She also was proud to sponsor the Lorraine and Tiny Sonstrom Basketball Tournament at Immanuel Lutheran School for many years. Lorraine also volunteered for many American Red Cross blood drives and other programs whenever needed. Lorraine loved to travel with Tiny, and

continued on these adventures with extended family and church groups venturing throughout the United States, the Caribbean, and Bermuda. Her photo albums document these happy times. Her family will miss her smile and penchant for good food and anything sweet depending on its' point value. The family would like to thank the nurses and aides of KindCare of Bristol and Enhabit Hospice for their Care. Funeral services will be held on Friday (January 23, 2026) at 10am at Immanuel Lutheran Church,154 Meadow St., Bristol. Burial will follow in West Cemetery, 49 Pound St., Bristol. Relatives and friends may call at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol on Thursday between 4 and 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, 154 Meadow St. Bristol, Ct 06010. Lorraine was a beautiful lady, and I so remember the exercise class we did together at Silver Snickers. She was my inspiration. She will be missed. Rest in peace my friend.

Condolences to the family. Lorraine was the smooth driver of Bristol Public Schools/Dickau Bus Co. school bus #63 for us in the 1970's. Very nice lady. I worked at Dickau Bus Co. for her husband, Tiny, who was also a great guy, & spoke fondly of their trips to Las Vegas
