Lorraine Taylor Obituary

Lorraine Taylor, born on April 24, 1934, in Taunton, MA, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family.

A compassionate soul who dedicated her life to nurturing others, Lorraine was a registered nurse, volunteer at Attleboro Medical Associates, and a proud member of the Attleboro Nurses Club and the Sturdy Hospital Alumni Committee. She had a successful career working at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital and Country Haven Nursing Home in Norton. Lorraine was a 1952 graduate of Taunton High School and a 1955 graduate of Sturdy Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. Lorraine married the love of her life, the late Paul L. Taylor, Sr., in 1958. She made her home in Attleboro, Massachusetts, enjoyed cooking, shopping, quilting, gardening, and sharing meals. What mattered most to Lorraine was spending time with her family and friends.

Lorraine is survived by her son, Paul Taylor and his partner Laurie Miller both of Coventry, RI; her two daughters, Jill Pedro and her husband David of Middletown, RI and Melissa Tucker and her husband Mark Sr. of Charlestown, RI: her grandchildren, Rebecca Pedro of Middletown, RI, Bradley Pedro of Somerville, MA, Katelynn Tucker and Mark Tucker Jr. both of Charlestown, RI: her two sisters, Shirley Dwyer and her husband George of East Falmouth and Louise Furtado of Framingham; she also leaves several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul L. Taylor Sr; her parents, Raymond and Marie Hogan; brother-in-law, James Furtado and her sister-in-law, Elaine Blackburn.

Lorraine will be remembered for her dedication to her family, her passion for her profession, and her love of traveling with her husband. Those who knew and loved Lorraine will remember her for her kindness and the care she extended to all she met.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026, from 5 - 7 pm at Duffy-Poule Funeral and Cremation Services, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro, Massachusetts.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 10:00am at St. John the Evangelist Church, 133 North Main Street, Attleboro, Massachusetts. Burial will follow at the North Purchase Cemetery, 824 N. Main St., Attleboro, Massachusetts.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that gifts be made in Lorraines memory to support glioblastoma research at the MGB Cancer Institute. Gifts may be made online at: https://because.massgeneral.org/give/768962/#!/donation/checkout .
