Louanna Lonnett,73, was born April 4, 1950 in Ville Platte, Louisiana to Edmond and Exzina Roberts Wilson. A native of Ville Platte, La. she resided in Iowa, Louisiana. Her favorite passtime was cooking for "everyone." If you mentioned it, she was cooking it for you. She enjoyed playing bingo and was a talker who never met a stranger. She was a very caring person and loved helping people. She worked for Rabideaux's Sausage Kitchen for twenty three years and also worked for Jennings Manufacturing. Mrs. Lonnett departed this life Wednesday, January 17, 2024, in Lake Charles. She leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter, Marsha Lonnett; six sisters, Gertie Fontenot, Garrie Jack, Rita Ventess, Emma Wilson, Elvina Ardoin, and Esther Wilson; two brothers, Truman Wilson and Edwin Wilson Sr.; five grandchildren, Evan, Hannah, Germar, Morion, and Monti Lonnett; one great grandchild who was the light of her life, Autumn Lonnett; three godchildren, Zachery Thomas, Robert "Boobie" Orebeau Jr., and Norvon Jones; special niece, Florence Thomas Victorian; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Delton "Tony" Lonnett; son, Russell Lonnett; parents, Edmond and Exzina Wilson; and brother, Curtniss Wilson. Her visitation will be Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 9AM with her funeral following at 11AM, at New Faith Missionary Baptist Church located at 4211 Opelousas Street in Lake Charles. Minister Ervin Wilson will officiate. Burial will be in Combre Memorial Park under the direction of James Funeral Home.
