Russell Lee Lonnett was born August 9, 1969 in Welsh, Louisiana to the Louanna Wilson Lonnett and the late Delton Lonnett. Russell was a graduate of Lacassine High School where he played basketball and a United States Army veteran where he served in Desert Storm. He was a former employee of the Isle of Capri as a pit manager for over fifteen years and was an employee of Ash Grove. He was the greatest husband, father, grandfather, brother, and son. Russell was a die hard Dallas Cowboy fan. He departed this life Saturday, September 10, 2022 in Cypress, Texas.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Gicele Denise Lonnett; daughters, Hannah Lonnett and Megan Goodly (Damarr Carter); sons, Morion and Monti Lonnett, Morgon (Khy) Goodly, Mason and Mattison Simien; mother, Louanna Lonnett; sister, Marsha Lonnett; grandchildren, Paisley, Ellenie, Khyson, Macie, McKenzie, Khyleigh, and Ollie; nephews, Evan (godchild) and Germar Lonnett; godchildren, Raymond Jack III and Raylon Blake; and a host of other relatives and friends.
His visitation will be Saturday, September 17, 2022 from 12:00 noon with his funeral following at 2:00p.m., at New Faith Baptist Church, Pastor Earl Miller, located at 4211 Opelousas Street in Lake Charles. Burial will be at the Southwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Jennings on Tuesday, September 20, 2022.
