Louba Cattan Ayoub, 90, of Gainesville, Florida, passed away at her home on July 14, 2023. She was born on February 25, 1933, in Jerusalem to parents George and Marika Cattan. Louba was a beloved 55-year member of the Gainesville community and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Louba is survived by her loving daughter, Hala Sandridge (Thomas) of Tampa; her sons, Steven Ayoub, Greg Ayoub (Tanya), Jeff Ayoub (Jamie), and Paul Ayoub (Stephanie), all of Gainesville; and her grandchildren, Tommy, Trevor, Jenna, Kevin, Michael, Jake, Anna, and Andrew. She was preceded in death by her dearest husband of 50 years, Dr. Elia Moussa Ayoub, the love of her life.

During her lifetime, Louba was a devoted housewife and mother, supporting her husband, children, and the many cousins who traveled to Gainesville to attend the University of Florida. Louba was a dedicated member of the UF Medical Guild. Given her love of children, she was also a 25-year volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House, later becoming a board member. Louba was a member of St. Elizabeth Greek Orthodox Church.

In her free time, Louba enjoyed entertaining and, along with her husband Elia, hosted family and friends for memorable dinners. She was known for her delicious Mediterranean cooking, introducing many Gainesville friends to their first taste of Arabic food. Louba also relished vacation time at the family's Crescent Beach condo and traveling the world with her husband, a world-renowned pediatrician and accomplished lecturer.

A private funeral service for family will be held at St. Elizabeth Greek Orthodox Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Elizabeth Greek Orthodox Church at 5129 N.W. 53rd Avenue, Gainesville, FL 32653.
