Lougene Lee Musgrove, born on January 11, 1942, in Valentine, Nebraska, peacefully departed this life on August 21, 2025, in Coffeyville, Kansas. She was a devoted wife and cherished member of her family and community. Lougene's life's journey included an enriching career in retail at Zodys Thrifty Drug, where she brought her warmth and kindness to everyone she encountered.

Lougene forged many treasured memories throughout her life. She and her late husband, Donnie Musgrove, shared a profound love for family gatherings, particularly enjoying cookouts where laughter and stories were always abundant. She found great joy in tending to her flowers, nurturing both her garden and her beloved pets and birds. Lougene had a playful spirit, enjoying an occasional thrill at the slot machines and an adventurous side that led her to ride motorcycles with the Legion Riders. As a proud member of the American Legion, she found much joy in camaraderie, often spending leisurely evenings on the back porch with friends and family.

She had a quest for knowledge that led her to achieve her associate degree. This accomplishment reflected her determination and dedication throughout her life.

Lougene is survived by her loving family, including her daughter Heidijo A. Robinson and her son-in-law Brain P. Robinson. She also leaves behind her son Douglas W. Grindstaff and his wife Holly O'Neill Grindstaff. Her grandchildren, Aaron Meyer, Rachel D. Musgrove, Lauren D. Meyer, and their husbands Cody Morris and Eric Musgrove, will carry her memory forward, along with her adored great-grandchildren: Copeland Musgrove, Kaylene Musgrove, Easton Musgrove, Kortlynn Musgrove, Beau Morris, Sadie Morris, Ensley Morris, and Cheyenne Morris.

Lougene was preceded in death by her husband Donald K. Musgrove, her parents Lloyd D. Green and Bethene M. Green, her brother Ronald L. Green, and her grandmother Blanche Wheeler.

A memorial service honoring Lougene will be held on September 12, 2025, at Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas, starting at 2:00 PM.

As her family reflects on Lougene's life, they are grateful for her legacy of love, kindness, and the countless happy moments they shared together. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered in their hearts.
