Louie Ray Wheat

Louie Ray Wheat, born August 30, 1960, in Dalton, Georgia, passed away Saturday, November 1, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, adventure, and authenticity. The beloved son of the late Judd Wheat, Jr. and Shelba Muse Wheat, Louie spent many years working in the carpet industry and landscaping, a cornerstone of his hometown.
A true cowboy at heart, Louie found joy in the great outdoors-horseback riding, camping, bonfires, gardening, and anything that brought him closer to nature. His sweet soul and gentle spirit touched all who knew him.
Louie was preceded in death by his sister, Sharon Wheat. He is survived by his loving siblings and a brother-in-law: Glenda and Jimmy Welch, Rhonda Wheat, and Aaron Wheat; and by his cherished nieces and nephews: Elaina Martin, Shaun Martin, TJ Rogers, Shane Wheat, Daniel Welch, Whitney Sutton, and Marsha Nelms.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, November 9, 2025, at 2:00 P.M., Murray County Saddle Club to honor Louie's memory and the joy he brought to those around him.
