Louis John Abate

Louis John Abate, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2025, at the age of 58. Born on April 30, 1967, in Warren, Michigan, he was the cherished son of Russell and Kathleen (Jurczak) Abate.
Louis worked with Community Enterprises for many years. He loved being outdoors, going up north to the cottage, riding motorcycles and hunting. Louis enjoyed listening to music and camping. More importantly, he loved spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his loving mother, Kathleen Abate of Grant Twp.; sisters, Maria Polechonski of Yale and Kathleen (Benjamin) Ward of Avoca; nephew, Michal; and niece, Brianna.
Louis was preceded in death by his father, Russell Abate; and his nephew, Russell Ward.
As we say goodbye to Louis John Abate, we celebrate the indelible mark he left on the hearts of his family and friends.
A gathering and viewing will be held on Sunday, December 28, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Grace Memorial-Smith Chapel, 1525 Hancock Street, Port Huron, MI 48060. The Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025, at St. Edward on the Lake Catholic Church, 6945 Lakeshore Rd, Lakeport, MI 48059, at 10:30 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Father Lee Acervo will officiate.
