Louis Belletieri Obituary

Louis T. "Louie" Belletieri, 76, of Emmaus, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2023. He was the husband of Judith I. Brunst. They celebrated 11 happy years last September. Born in Hazleton, he was the son of the late Louis K. and Sue (Scalleat) Belletieri. A restaurant owner practically all of his life, Louie owned and operated many restaurants; however, he was best known at 12th and Chew Sts., in Allentown that was originally started by his parents and known at that time as "The Original Gino's." It was then changed to Louie's Restaurant and later moved to S.W. 31st Street. Louie was also very involved in local politics and was well known for his run for Mayor of the City of Allentown. If he could help someone he always would. He was larger than life, loved everyone, and treated all as family. Ya Gotta Love it at Louie's!

Survivors: Wife; Daughter, Christine Bender and her husband Herb; Sons, Josh Lutte and Louis A., and his wife Amanda Belletieri. Brother, Gene Belletiere and his wife Nancy; Grandchildren, Zachary, Hailey, Logan, Cassie, and Lia; Cat, Jax. He was predeceased by a Brother, Peter Belletieri.

Services: Memorial, 7 PM Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Bachman, Kulik, & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 17th & Hamilton St., Allentown. A calling will be held from 5-7 PM Thursday.

Although most people knew Louie as hard-working, hospitable and very easy on the eyes, He was far more than that. Some of our old friends, who were not doing too well in life ,always had a chance to start over ( some, multiple times) ,have a job, meals and even a place to stay...thanks to the generosity of the Belletieri family and Sue's method of "motivation", which enabled some people to do better, at least for awhile. He helped SO MANY people in a quite, classy way ,as was his Beautiful Soul's inclination. Louie not only had a heart of gold....He was, is and will always be GOLDEN.......Sue Roth [email protected]

To The Family,
I was so very sorry to hear of your dear Louie's passing. As far back as high school, Louie was a larger-than-life kind of guy and a good man, and that never changed. I always enjoyed coming to the restaurant to sit with him and reminisce. Louie knew `everyone` and had friends everywhere, but his family was his heart, and my thoughts and prayers go out to you all at this sad time.
I'll always remember my old friend Louie and his smiling face, wonderful wit, and great stories.
Love and peace,
Donna

My very deepest condolences to the entire family.
It said in the music world that there are songs and albums from artists that are the soundtrack of peoples lives... Growing up with certain music and remembering certain times in your life by that music... Louie´s restaurant is to my life as music is to other peoples lives... That restaurant (both locations) defined different periods of my life and showed me some of the greatest times with friends in my life... Both the restaurant and Louie were so iconic and brought to the community so much flavor both literally and figuratively. Thank you Louie Belletieri for all you´ve done and been for so many.

Our condolences to the whole Belletieri Family. Our memories run deep. My parents, Dr. Vigilante and Dr. Siegfried brought us to Gino's for dinner several times a month. He was bigger than life, had a heart of gold and will be sorely missed by all those who met him.

I remember delivering bread from our bakery (Romas) to Gino´s at 12th and Chew Sts. Either Louie or his Dad would bring out a cheese steak for me.....always on the house. Nori and I met the Spagnolettis for dinner at Louie´s on the South side often. Louie always took time to sit with us, but not too long because he made the rounds to every table and made every customer feel special. He was the special one though. I love you, my friend, and I will never forget you. We "loved it at Louie´s".
