My sincere condolences to all the family near & far! I´ve always admired Louie & how hard he worked, and that he always gave employees a chance to better themselves! I worked at 12th & Chew for 16 years. I didn´t need the money but I did it because I loved that wonderful restaurant & all of you made me feel like family! Nana Sue was a hero, an angel. Louie loved life & it was so obvious when he sat at guests tables to talk and made everyone laugh and feel special. Hold your wonderful memories close to your heart

Although most people knew Louie as hard-working, hospitable and very easy on the eyes, He was far more than that. Some of our old friends, who were not doing too well in life ,always had a chance to start over ( some, multiple times) ,have a job, meals and even a place to stay...thanks to the generosity of the Belletieri family and Sue's method of "motivation", which enabled some people to do better, at least for awhile. He helped SO MANY people in a quite, classy way ,as was his Beautiful Soul's inclination. Louie not only had a heart of gold....He was, is and will always be GOLDEN.......Sue Roth [email protected]

To The Family,
I was so very sorry to hear of your dear Louie's passing. As far back as high school, Louie was a larger-than-life kind of guy and a good man, and that never changed. I always enjoyed coming to the restaurant to sit with him and reminisce. Louie knew `everyone` and had friends everywhere, but his family was his heart, and my thoughts and prayers go out to you all at this sad time.
I'll always remember my old friend Louie and his smiling face, wonderful wit, and great stories.
Love and peace,
Donna

My very deepest condolences to the entire family.
It said in the music world that there are songs and albums from artists that are the soundtrack of peoples lives... Growing up with certain music and remembering certain times in your life by that music... Louie´s restaurant is to my life as music is to other peoples lives... That restaurant (both locations) defined different periods of my life and showed me some of the greatest times with friends in my life... Both the restaurant and Louie were so iconic and brought to the community so much flavor both literally and figuratively. Thank you Louie Belletieri for all you´ve done and been for so many.

Our condolences to the whole Belletieri Family. Our memories run deep. My parents, Dr. Vigilante and Dr. Siegfried brought us to Gino's for dinner several times a month. We loved Gino and Sue and their children. Louis and his mother Sue always spent time speaking with their customers because too them we were their family too. He was bigger than life, had a heart of gold and will be sorely missed by all those who met him.

I remember delivering bread from our bakery (Romas) to Gino´s at 12th and Chew Sts. Either Louie or his Dad would bring out a cheese steak for me.....always on the house. Nori and I met the Spagnolettis for dinner at Louie´s on the South side often. Louie always took time to sit with us, but not too long because he made the rounds to every table and made every customer feel special. He was the special one though. I love you, my friend, and I will never forget you. We "loved it at Louie´s".
