Louis Conn Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Beyers Funeral Home & Crematory - Leesburg on Feb. 20, 2026.
Louis J. Conn, 87, went home to be with the Lord on February 19 in Leesburg, Florida at Cornerstone Hospice.

Born on October 5, 1938, in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania, Louis was the son of Louis and Helen Cionzynski. He graduated from King's College in 1960 and went on to Courtland University, where he earned his master's degree in educational administration.

Louis met his wife, Barbara, on Christmas Day, 1957, and said he fell in love immediately. Together, they built a beautiful life centered on their strong faith and devotion to God and family.

Louis loved to fly fish, a passion he passed on to his son, Lou. He often spoke with pride about the fly fisherman his son became and cherished the time they spent together on the water.

He lived for college football season and was a devoted Penn State fan. He could list college football coaches and players going back more than 50 years. In fact, he did this often with his son Joe and cherished that time talking sports with him. Even through his illness, he was thrilled to watch this year's College Football Championship with his daughter, Tara.

Louis was proud of his Polish heritage and enjoyed pierogi and poppy-seed roll - though nothing could rival his wife Barbara's Italian cooking.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Barbara Conn; his children, Joseph Conn of Lake Mary, Florida, and Tara (Cory) Taffera of Stafford, Virginia; five grandchildren, Andrea Weeks, Gabriela Conn, Isabella Kaiser, Sophia Taffera, and Gianna Taffera; three great-grandchildren, Theodore, Benjamin and Elizabeth Weeks; and his daughter-in-love, Patricia Conn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Helen Cionzynski, and his son, Louis J. Conn.

Louis will be remembered for his devotion to his wife and his enduring faith, which sustained him throughout his life and brings him peace with his Lord and Savior.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2026 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Beyers Funeral Home, 1123 W. Main St, Leesburg, FL 34748. A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 23, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Beyers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Lone Oak Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Cornerstone Hospice.
