Louis F. Cseke Jr., born on April 17, 1932, passed from this life on April 24, 2024 surrounded by the love of his family. He was the son of the late Louis Sr. and Mary Cseke.
Louis, known by his friends and family as "Louie", was a devoted father to Diana Laverick, Darlene Moore, Donna and Lynn Schofield, Louis Cseke III, Leland and Sarah Beth Cseke, Antoinette and Chet Merta, Robert LaBelle, Yvette and Daniel Conrado, and Amy and Scott Aston. His legacy extends through his grandchildren Melissa, Andrea, Kristina, Michael, Kalinn, Annmarie, Christian, CJ, Heather, Chris, Roger, Clayton, Bronson, Sarah, Weston, Ethan, Anna, Nicholas, Maxwell, and his 24 great-grandchildren, with three more on the way.
As a young man Louie served in the US Army during the Korean war. During his time of service he was a driver infamous for his lead foot. Higher ranking officials often applauded his ability to get people to places quickly though not all passengers enjoyed the ride. He was a proud patriot and flew the flag at every home he resided in.
After his time in the service Louie started a family in Dearborn. A dedicated provider, Louie worked tirelessly to ensure the well-being of his family. He was always working, whether he was fixing up the house or in his profession. His commitment and strong work ethic were evident throughout his 39 1/2 years at Ford Motor Company as a tool and die maker.
His work on cars extended well beyond the factory. Louie's greatest passion in life was classic cars. He spent most of his freetime restoring cars for friends or profit. He was a skilled mechanic and could repair any engine that came into his garage. Louie loved collecting cars and was known for his jet-black 1972 Mercury Cougar convertible. He frequented car shows with his nephew Bob and spent hours talking with his family about classic cars.
Louie lived a life full of simple daily routines. His mornings were spent drinking his black tea with honey and two cookies often accompanied his trademark lunch of mustard and bologna sandwiches. He enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers but would often spend his afternoons on his porch talking with family and watching the cars go by.
Later in life Louie spent hours assembling jigsaw puzzles for his loved ones. Always the thoughtful father, each puzzle's design was specifically selected to match the personality of the recipient. As a grandfather he never missed the opportunity to send a birthday card to his grandchildren. His life was filled with little thoughtful acts for those he loved.
As we bid farewell to Louie, we remember him not only for his hard work and selflessness but also for the love and joy he brought into the lives of those around him. His memory will forever remain etched in our hearts, a beacon of strength and love. May he rest in peace, knowing his legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched.
Memorial Visitation will take place on Monday, April 29, 2024 from 2:00 PM until the time of the Memorial Service at 7:00 PM at Solosy Funeral Home.
