Louis Charles Hamilton, age 96, a resident of Washington, Michigan since 1968, passed away Monday, October 13, 2025 at Fox Run Senior Living of Novi. Louis was born July 23, 1929 in St. John Michigan, the son of Charles and Dora (Kritzman) Hamilton. Louis married Barbara Ellen McFall in 1956, and she preceded him in death in 2020.
Louis attended St. Clair College for two years before joining the Air Force, earning the rank of 1st Lieutenant before being honorably discharged. Louis was a fighter pilot, and he traveled all over the world while he was in the military. Louis was a graduate of Michigan State University. He worked as an Engineer for GM in Flint, US Tank in Cleveland, and at Ford Motor at the Romeo Proving Grounds, and Product Development in Dearborn. He retired from Ford in 1995. Louis enjoyed swimming, traveling, and golf, but most of all, he loved his family.
Louis is survived by his sons, Brad (Genie) Hamilton of Fort Wayne, Bryan (Sherrie) Hamilton of Kalamazoo, and Richard (Faith) Hamilton of Novi. Grandchildren, Dan (Abby) Hamilton, Lisa (Jordan) Hamilton- Spaans, A.J. (Alyssa) Hamilton, Katie (Robert) Hamlin, Michelle (Andrew) Hamilton-Ricci, Christopher Hamilton, Brittany (Eldari) Hamilton, and Jessica Hamilton, and great grandchildren Scarlett, Hazel, Violet, Olive, Evelyn, Natalie, Luke, Meridith, Louis, Dean, and Hendrix.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 3:00PM to 8:00PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be held Friday, October 17, 2025 at 9:30AM, in-state at 9:00AM at St. Clement Catholic Church, Romeo, Michigan.
In lieu of flowers, family would like donations to be made to St. Clement Catholic Church (243 S. Main st. Romeo, MI 48065)
