Louis L. Hoetzlein

1942 - 2025

Louis L. Hoetzlein, 82, of Harwick, passed away May 29, 2025, in UPMC St. Margaret Hospital. He was born June 3, 1942, to his parents, the late Frank and Elizabeth McMullen Hoetzlein, and has been a longtime resident of our valley. He graduated from Central High School and served in the U.S. Navy. After his discharge, he worked for the United States Postal Service for 30 years, where he eventually retired. He was a past member of the Tarentum area Lion's Club for many years and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time at his camp and farm in Punxsutawney. Surviving him are his loving wife, Margaret "Peg" Gilmore Hoetzlein; son, David Hoetzlein of Harwick; son, Daniel (Jennifer) Hoetzlein of Sarver; many loving nieces and nephews; as well as great-nieces, Angela and Danielle; and great-nephew, Geno. Besides his parents, Mr. Hoetzlein was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy L. Hoetzlein. Five brothers, Lawrence, Francis, Edward, Thomas, and James; one sister, Betty Wilson; and a brother-in-law, Robert (Donna) Gilmore. Friends will be received from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 1, 2025, at CHARLES B. JARVIE CHESWICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1607 Pittsburgh St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, June 2, 2025, in Our Lady of Victory/Guardian Angel Parish with burial in Mt.
