Louis J Lado ObituaryLouis J. Lado, age 93, of Willoughby, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2025, in Concord Village, surrounded by the love of his family. Born July 18, 1932, in Cleveland, Ohio, Louis spent the majority of his life in Willoughby-a community he loved and called home.
He was the devoted husband of 66 years to Lenore Lado (née Adams), and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and family. Louis was the proud and loving father of Susan Kunsman, Patty Tommer, Barbara (Matt) Zarbock, and the late Laura Leonard. He was also a caring father-in-law to Dale Leonard and the late Rob Tommer.
Louis's greatest joy was being "Grandpa" to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was the cherished grandfather of Raymond (Sarah), Scott (Jen), Mathew (Toni), Ashley (Adam), Shane (Tricia), Robbie (Vanessa), Rodney (Dawn), Ricky (Lisa), Scott, and Kayla (Drew). His legacy continues through his adored great-grandchildren: Jaxon, Dylan, Lily, Nate, Vinnie, Nathan, Grayson, Robbie Jr., Riley, Ryan, Joshua, Morgan, Riana, Austin, Luke, and Jade. His face would light up with pride at even the mention of their names.
He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Lucille and John Garis.
Louis retired from T.R.W. Valve Division, where he worked for many years as an oiler. He was a hardworking man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life-playing the lottery, spinning the reels on his authentic Las Vegas slot machine, indulging in his favorite sweets, especially cheesecake and tapping his foot to Roll Out the Barrel and other lively Polka songs. But more than anything, Louis treasured time spent with his family. His love, wisdom, and gentle humor will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance on Friday, August 8, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7:30 PM at the funeral home. A Graveside Service will follow on Saturday at 10:00 AM at Willoughby Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Lou's name to the Lake County Humane Society, a cause close to his heart.
