Louis P. Laubenthal, Sr.

LEIPSIC – Louis P. Laubenthal, Sr., 80, of Leipsic, passed away at 8:31 a.m. on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at his residence. He was born March 17, 1945, in Ottawa to the late Lawrence W. and Rose (Kuhbander) Laubenthal. On June 5, 1965, he married Sharon Berger, who survives in Leipsic.

Other survivors include three sons: Louis (Nancy) Laubenthal, Jr., Larry Laubenthal and Dennis Laubenthal, all of Leipsic; four grandchildren: Robby Laubenthal, Amber Beach, Stephen Grueser and Erik Grueser; four great-grandchildren: Seth, Bryson, Riley and Jace Beach; two brothers: Herman Laubenthal and William Laubenthal, both of Ottawa; and a sister, Margaret (Terry) Recker of Ottawa.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a daughter, Trudy Grueser; and a sister-in-law, Barbara Laubenthal.

Louis retired from Philips, Ottawa and formerly owned Laubenthal Refuse. He was a former member of the Leipsic Hunting and Fishing Club, and current member of the Gold Prospectors Association of America, Ohio State Prospectors Association and Lost Dutchman Mining Association. Louis was an avid camper and coin collector, loved gardening and working with his chickens and enjoyed tinkering around with things.

Per his wishes, there will be no services at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic.

Memorial donations may be made to Putnam County Homecare and Hospice or Putnam County CAP.
