Louis Amondo Machetto, 87, of Newburg, MD passed away on November 20, 2025 at University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center, La Plata, MD.

Louis was born on May 29, 1938 in Union City, NJ to Angela "Ann" (Dompieri) and Louis Machetto.

He was raised between New Jersey and Washington, DC and he attended Anacostia High School. In 1957, he joined the Army and served through 1961. Following his time in the Army, he spent over 35 years working for PEPCO and took great pride in being one of those involved in the startup of their plant in Morgantown, on the Maryland side of the "301 Bridge". After retirement, he had the opportunity to spend 3 months in Australia helping in the opening of a power plant in Brisbane.

Louis was a lifelong fan of the Washington Redskins. He loved crabs, boating, and his 1964-1/2 Mustang. He was a talented mechanic, and a loving father, grandfather, and husband.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Louie.

He is survived by his wife, Anne (Haley) Machetto; daughters; Francene, and Angie; step-daughter, Michelle; grandsons; Dillian, and Tristan; granddaughter; Madeline; and step-grandchildren; Jacob, and Mia. He is also survived by a number of cousins and extended family members in Camandona, Italy.

A Celebration of Life pot-luck gathering will be held on, Tuesday, December 2, 2025 from 5:30 – 8:00 PM at La Plata United Methodist Church, 3 Port Tobacco Road, La Plata, MD 20646.

Louie would be at a gathering of folks in Ocean City Md. each year around Labor Day. Always fun. Louie's sense of humor was fantastic. The shops and restaurants were patronized. Most importantly Louie loved to be around people and having conversation. He will be missed and his spirit will go on.
