Louis J. Miday, Sr., age 95 and one month, passed away peacefully from this life to his eternal life on February 27, 2025, with his family by his side. He was born on February 1, 1930, in Canton, Ohio, to parents, Eugene and Eleanor (Martin) Miday, who preceded him in death. Together with his parents, Louis was also preceded in death by his wife, Rachael Miday in 2019; daughter, Christina Miday; son, Richard Miday; and 11 siblings.
A devout Catholic, whose faith carried him through his daily journey, he was an active parishioner of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church until his health did not allow him and had been a member St. Joseph Catholic Church for many years. He was a devoted husband and father, exemplifying being steadfast in faith, integrity, and unconditional love. He was a member of the Knight of Columbus, loved sports, was an avid golfer, and enjoyed trips to Myrtle Beach with his family.
Louis is survived by his daughters, Rachael (Rick) Evans, Patricia (Dennis) Williams, Theresa Miday, Janet (David) McKenna; sons, Louis Miday, Michael (Carol Lynne) Miday, David (Kathy) Miday, Steven (Dana) Miday; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, March 3, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, Lamiell Funeral Home, Canton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at 11:00 am, St. Joan of Arc Church, Guardian Angels Parish, Canton. Father Richard Pentello will serve as Celebrant.
