Louis R. Quella, 82, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at Oakridge Gardens after a short battle with liver cancer. He was born on April 8, 1942, and raised in Menasha. Louis was employed with Banta Book Group for over 35 years, retiring in 2004. He also honorably served in the U.S. Army. On May 19, 1979, Louis married Joanne Kaiser, and they shared 40 years together before her passing in 2019.

Louis was a lifelong resident of Menasha. He was gruff, but very kind and loving. He took care of his wife Joanne at home from 2015 until her passing. You always knew when Louie was around and could hear his voice over everything. He loved to go on daily drives, especially through Jefferson Park, and to visit friends. Louis enjoyed playing cribbage, watching Brewers, Packers, Badgers football games, and NASCAR. He also loved to deer hunt and spend time with family up north. He especially loved trips to the casino with Joanne.

Louis is survived by his children: Meg and Nathan Quella; 3 siblings and their spouses: Norbert Quella Jr (Joyce), John Quella (Louise) and Dorothy Jones (CJ), sister-in-law Terry Quella; and many other relatives and friends.

In addition to his wife, Louis was further preceded by his parents Norbert Sr and Ruth, and 4 siblings: Robert, William, Margaret, and Mary.

A memorial gathering will be held from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at the Wichmann Funeral Home, Laemmrich Chapel, 312 Milwaukee St., Menasha. A celebration of his life will be held at City Limits Bar and Grill, 544 4th St., Menasha, following the gathering. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are appreciated to the American Cancer Society.
