Gordon “Gordy” Frank Milheiser, age 81, passed away at his home on Sunday May 15, 2011. He was born in Appleton, on September 20, 1929, to the late James and Anna (Smolinski) Milheiser. In August 1951, Gordy was united in marriage to Carol Schomisch at St. Mary Catholic Church, Appleton. Gordy honorably served his country in the Army. After his service he worked at Kimberly Clark as a machine operator until his retirement in 1989. Gordy enjoyed camping and traveling. He loved going up north and traveling out west, but spending time with his family at Boulder Lake was very special to him. Gordy loved family time. He also loved tending to his “garden” of tomato plants. It was a family race to get the first and biggest tomato each year.
Gordy is lovingly survived by his wife Carol Milheiser of Menasha; children: Orville “Bud” (Christine) Milheiser of Greenville, Joseph “Joe” Milheiser of Menasha, Phillip “Phil” (Jan) Milheiser of Winchester, KY, Louis “Lou” (Patty) Milheiser of Appleton, Thomas “Tom” Milheiser and Donna Holbrook of White Lake, Gerald “Jerry” (Pati) Milheiser of Pasadena, TX, Julie (Brad) Swiontek of Neenah; grandchildren: Eric (April), Mike (Amanda), Jenna, Monica (Josh), Paul (Bailey), December, Amy (John), Lisa, Karrie, Melissa, John, Jennifer, Morgan, Lauren, Alex, Tony (Tisha), Casey (DJ); great grandchildren: Kori, Ryland, Tristan, Shelby, Olivia, Carson, Addison, Abram and numerous nieces and nephews.
Gordy is preceded in death by his daughter Mary Ann Milheiser, brothers: Orville James Milheiser, James (Dorothy) Milheiser; sisters: Ann Worden and Florence Bodmer; daughter-in-law Becky Milheiser; and son-in-law Jeff Scheffler.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to all the staff at Affinity Hospice for all their love, care and support for Gordy and his family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30am on Thursday, May 19, 2011, at St Mary Catholic Church, 528 Second Street, Menasha, with Fr Paul Paider officiating. Friends will be welcomed at the church for visitation on Thursday from 10:30am until the time of Mass. Interment will take place at St Mary Cemetery, Menasha. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Gordy’s name.
