Louis Rodriguez, known affectionately to many as Boysie, passed away on March 30, 2026, in
Chicago, Illinois, at the age of 60. Born on April 12, 1965, in
Chicago, Illinois, He lived a life that was as warm, vibrant, and unforgettable in the city he called home. Boysie departed this world but if love, laughter, and style had been medical equipment, he likely would have outlasted us all. He leaves behind a legacy built on kindness, personality, and the kind of charm that could walk into a room and make it feel like the best seat in the house.
Boysie was the beloved son to the late Aurea and Louis Rodriguez, Beloved brother to Robert Rodriguez, Doris Poloko (Raymond Poloko) and Eddie Rodriguez (Dawn Rodriguez) and He carried those family bonds with deep pride and affection. He was a loving uncle to Adam, Vanessa, Joseph, Rebecca, Renee, and Valerie, and a treasured great-uncle to Aliyah, Noah, Amari, Aria, Ava, and Isabella. Belvoed nephew,Cousin and friend to all!
His family knew him as someone who could offer a laugh, a reality check, and a little bit of fabulousness all in the same conversation. He had a way of making everyone feel seen, and He did it with such ease that people may have thought it was effortless, though anyone who knew him understood it was pure heart.
As a Christian, Boysie lived with faith at the center of his life. His spirit reflected generosity, resilience, and a steady belief in the goodness of people, even when people were being, in the most polite way possible, a little ridiculous. He carried himself with grace and conviction, and his faith gave comfort not only to him,but also to those who leaned on his strength. He knew how to encourage others, how to listen without judgment, and how to offer wisdom with just enough humor to make the truth go down easier. That was one of his gifts, and it was a mighty fine one.
Boysie was also a loving hair stylist to many, and he did much more than style hair. He helped people feel confident, radiant, and ready to face the world, even if the world was acting up. In his chair, people found more than a fresh look. They found conversation, comfort, and the kind of honest entertainment that only Boysie could provide. He had the rare ability to make beauty feel personal and fun, and He understood that sometimes a good haircut could fix a bad day, a bad mood, and, on the right occasion, a bad attitude too. His hands worked with skill, but his heart worked with love.
His interests reflected the joy he carried everywhere he went. Boysie loved his music and traveling, and those passions gave his life rhythm and adventure. Music lifted his spirit, filled his days, and gave him another way to celebrate the world around him Traveling fed his adventurous nature and his curiosity about life beyond the familiar. He liked movement, color, and discovery, and he approached each new experience with the same energy he brought to everything else. Boysie was loving, passionate, and adventurous, which is a powerful combination, and also a very good recipe for making sure nobody ever had a boring day around him
Those who knew Boysie will remember his humor as much as his heart. He had the kind of wit that arrived at just the right moment and the kind of delivery that made even a simple comment sound like a headline. He could be funny without trying too hard, which, frankly, is a talent many of us have been chasing with very little success. His laughter was contagious, his presence was memorable, and his personality was so full of life that it could brighten a room before he even fully entered it. He was one of those people who made ordinary moments feel like a scene worth replaying.
Though his passing leaves a deep emptiness, the love he gave remains powerful and lasting. Boysie's life was a beautiful blend of faith, family, artistry, and joy. He lived with heart, he loved with honesty, and he showed up for the people he cared about in ways that will not be forgotten. His memory will continue to live in the stories shared by his family, the music he loved, the lives he touched through his work, and the countless moments when his laughter made everything a little lighter.
Louis "Boysie" Rodriguez will be remembered always for his loving spirit, his passion for life, and his adventurous soul. He was a cherished part of Chicago, a devoted family member, a faithful Christian, and a man whose presence brought style, warmth, and laughter wherever he went. His story is one of love well lived, humor generously shared, and a legacy that will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew him.
