LOUIS A SABIA

Louis A. Sabia of Coral Gables, Fla. died Fri. evening, Nov. 28, 2025, after a brief illness, with his wife and family surrounding him. He attacked his cancer with a positive attitude and a belief that he had led a blessed life.

Lou was born on Aug. 26,1939 to Frank and Mary Sabia in New Rochelle, NY. After graduating from Tuckahoe High School, he joined the Army and served in Korea. Upon his return, Lou was accepted as an intern at IBM Corp. Seeing the potential in their new recruit, IBM sent him to Hunter College, NYC where he obtained a degree in Economics. IBM soon saw that their money was well spent when he rose to President of the 100% Club of the International Marketing Division. After 30 years, Lou retired from IBM and joined his wife, Nancy, in real estate with EWM.

From his teen summer job as a caddy at Westchester Country Club, golf became a passion. Moving to Coral Gables in 1972, Lou later joined Riviera Country Club, and in one of the club tournaments, won the coveted Mercedes Benz with a Hole-in-One.

Lou loved musicals and cooking. His wife, Nancy, called him "my renaissance man" for his habit of playing on his Steinway while allowing his pasta and sauce to cook to perfection in HIS kitchen. Another early passion was directing plays with some local acting groups, receiving rave reviews in the Miami Herald on several occasions.

Lou is survived by his best friend and beloved wife, Nancy, two sons, Louis, Jr (Chie) and John (Jennifer) and their mother, Jeannie Sponza, as well as three stepchildren, Julie Krooshof (Martin), Caroline Irvin (Lee), and Graham Hooper. He also leaves behind grandchildren, Angelique, Michael, Justin, Nicholas, Anthony, Joey, Julia, Sena, Charlotte, and William, and great-grandchildren, Eden, Esme, Elio, Aiden, Enzo, and Avianna.

Lou was a rare man, a man of integrity and honesty with a heart of gold and a commitment to his Lord. He will be missed forever by his wife, Nancy, and his extended family.
