Louis Milton Strout, 68 of Pittsfield, passed away August 2, 2025 at home after an 8 year courageous battle with cancer. Born in Pittsfield on December 27, 1956 to Louis M. Strout Sr., and Esther M. Ward Strout, he attended local schools.
He married the former Susan Lampro on October 3, 1975. They would have celebrated 50 years married this year.
Mr. Strout was a heavy equipment operator for many years, most recently working for J.S. Rae.
He loved hunting, NASCAR, motorcycles and the Boston Red Sox. Lou was the person who would give you the shirt off his back. Always the center of attention as the comedian, the old wise one and the sentimental shoulder to cry.
Louis is survived by his beloved wife, Susan Strout of Pittsfield; their children, Jeremy L. Strout of St. Augustine, FL, Nicholas W. Strout and significant other Misty White of Pittsfield, and Benjamin M. Strout and wife Jessica of Dalton, Kaleigh L. Strout and significant other, Jose L. Torres of Easthampton, MA, and Jovan and Jazlyn Colon of Pittsfield. As well as 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He also leaves his siblings, Barbara J. Weeks (Dale) of Peru, Donna M. Sakaske (Joel) of Chester, Michael E. Strout (Mary) of Williamstown, Connie L. Southard (Ricky) of Hinsdale, Lori A. Morrow-Canfora of Peru, Joanne L. Main (Eric) of Middlefield, Carol F. Strout (Warren Wetherell) of Hinsdale; as well as many nieces and nephews."
