Louis E. Taglang,87, of Vero Beach, Florida, died peacefully on September 1, 2023 at 7:00 am in the Palm Gardens Nursing home-Vero Beach where he was a resident for the past 3 years.
Louis was preceded in death by his loving wife of 44 years, Caroline A., brother Richard and his parents Joseph and Katherine (Thesli) Taglang.
Louis was a graduate of Liberty High School- Bethlehem, PA. After high school Louis was drafted into the United States Army where he served in Korea for 2 years.
Louis worked for the Bethlehem Steel Corporation in the Transportation Department for 33 years. At the end of his career with the Bethlehem Steel Louis turned his woodworking hobby into a small business when he opened the "The Wood Doctor" in Bethlehem, PA.
Known to most as "Lou" or "Pop-Pop" he enjoyed life to the fullest. His main interest was fishing. He spent many hours on the beach or his boat fishing.
Louis loved to travel, tinker with woodworking/crafts in addition to planting and harvesting a garden.
Louis is survived by a daughter, Jane A. wife of Jeffrey Morrison, of Myrtle Beach, SC. Grandchildren, Robert Morrison and Jennifer Werley as well
as two great grandchildren Abigail and Alexander Werley.
Final arrangements will be private at the families convenience.
