Louis R. "Lou" Trainor, D.D.S., 69 of Beverly, died on Friday, September 5th after a lengthy illness. Born in Tulsa, OK on January 11, 1956, he was son to the late Louis H. Trainor and Lillian M. (Mallon) MacBrinn.
A pillar of strength and love in his family, Lou was a dedicated husband to Valerie for 38 years and the proud father of four daughters: Emily, Alison, Elizabeth, and Caroline. He enjoyed coaching his daughters basketball teams, known as Coach "Doc", and was a steady presence at all their games (as long as all of their homework was done). He poured his heart into his family, always present with quiet strength, steady guidance, and unconditional love.
Professionally, Lou was a highly respected dentist and Harvard professor, known for both his expertise and his compassionate care. Over the course of his career, he impacted countless lives with his skill and integrity, earning the trust and admiration of patients and colleagues alike.
Lou was a devout Catholic with a deep and unwavering faith, who lived out his beliefs daily through service, humility, and kindness.
Lou is survived by his wife, Valerie Trainor of Beverly, his daughters; Emily DeStefano and her husband, Christopher DeStefano, of Lynnfield, Dr. Alison Trainor and her husband, Dr. Daniel Kowalsky of Melrose, Elizabeth Reyes and her husband, Arley Reyes of Boston, and Caroline Trainor of Beverly, and his grandchildren; Ava and Luke DeStefano, and Connor Kowalsky who will carry forward his legacy of love, devotion to family, deep faith, tireless work ethic, and commitment to education. Lou was a great man, lived a great life and touched many people. He will be missed daily.
