Louis Tremmel, Jr. Obituary
Louis August Tremmel, Jr., 93, of Ocean Springs, MS passed away Saturday, December 20, 2025. He was born June 29, 1932 to Louis A. Tremmel, Sr. and Margaret Roberts Tremmel.
Louis was a lifelong resident of the Gulf Coast. He was a US Army veteran, having served in Germany. Louis graduated with a master’s degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. After graduation, he began his career as an educator working at St. Martin High School, the Gulfport School System and MS Gulf Coast Community College. Louis found joy in being a lifelong member of the Les Pierrot Carnival Association.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Margaret Peresich, and great grandson, Michael Damion Hale-Unger.
He will be missed by his daughter, Bonnie (Jimmy) Sharp; grandsons, Michael Jason Unger and Johnathon Raymond Sharp; step granddaughter, Nicole (Bobby) Barksdale; sisters, Sarah (Marion) Pitalo and Mary Ott Tremmel Davidson; brother, Burt (Ira Fay) Tremmel; and numerous nieces, nephews, and step grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm on Monday, December 29, 2025 at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. Friends are invited to visit one hour prior. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
