Louis Edward Williams, 81, of Sherwood, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2025. Born in Little Rock on October 23, 1944, Louis lived a long and full life rooted in family, craftsmanship, and kindness.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Martha Koehler Williams, of Sherwood; two daughters, Regina Williams Kirk and her husband Shane of Sherwood, and Sarah Williams Stringer and her husband Jonathan of Fayetteville. Louis also leaves behind his brother, Raymond Williams of Sherwood; a nephew, Brooks Weiner of Deland, Florida; and five beloved grandchildren — Ryan and Spencer Kirk, and Genevieve, Stella, and Vivian Stringer — each of whom brought him immense joy.
Louis was preceded in death by his parents, A.B. and Lillian Williams of Sherwood; his brother, Robert Williams also of Sherwood; and his parents-in-law, Ernest and Regina Koehler of North Little Rock.
A gifted craftsman and respected builder in the Sherwood and North Little Rock communities for 50 years, Louis poured his skill and heart into every house he built. He created countless beautiful homes leaving a lasting legacy in the places where families live, love, and grow.
Louis was a wonderful son, a supportive son-in-law, a proud father and grandfather, and a loving husband. His hobbies reflected his warm and curious spirit: he loved fishing, golfing, cooking and especially baking. Many cherished memories were made in the kitchen with his father-in-law, where he learned the art of baking , He developed a passion for cooking that he shared generously with friends and family. Louis also enjoyed daily crossword puzzles, traveling, classic 1950s Westerns and reading.
A visitation will be held at Smith Funeral Home in North Little Rock on Tuesday, November 25th, from 2:00–4:00 p.m. A private burial will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to CARTI or to a charity meaningful to you.
