Louis E. Zaucha Jr., 77, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Independence Frick Hospital. Mr. Zaucha was born Jan. 17, 1948, in Mt. Pleasant, to the late Louis E. and Grace Shaw Zaucha Sr. Lou was a graduate of Hurst High School's class of 1965 and Robert Morris University. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam, receiving the Purple Heart. Lou was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, Holy Name Society, and the church golf league. Lou was also a member of the American Legion Post 446 and VFW Post 3368, both of Mt. Pleasant. Lou is survived by his loving family, his wife of 37 years, Bertie Wilson Zaucha; his children, Chad Zaucha (Ashlee), and Keri Bentley (Drew); his grandchildren, Reese, Brecke, Ryker, Beaux, and Wyatt; and his stepson, Jeff Lasich (Erin). Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral Mass for Lou at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, in St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, 224 Summit St., Mt. Pleasant. Military honors will be accorded by American Legion Post 446 and VFW Post 3368, both of Mt. Pleasant.
