Louise Godby Butte, age 98, of Eubank, Kentucky, departed this life on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at the Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, Kentucky.

She was born January 12, 1926 to the late Samuel Ramey and Anna Belle Butt Godby in Science Hill, Kentucky. She became a member of Eubank Baptist Church on January 15, 1961. Over the years, she served on church committees, sang in the choir, and taught the 2-3 year old Sunday school class. She had a love for children like none other. Louise babysat for many children in her home over the years and she loved each of them as her own. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandsons and great grandbabies.

Louise is survived by her daughter, Anna Lou & (Roger) Moore; one grandson, Dustin & (Mariah) Moore; three great-grandchildren, Ava Grace Moore, Logan Andrew Moore, and Brice Cannon Moore; and two siblings, Coy Godby, of Somerset, KY, and Lois Hamm, of Danville, KY. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members to mourn her passing.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eugene "Gene" Butte; one grandson, Andrew Moore; and seven siblings, M.A. Godby, Joe Godby, Ned Godby, Lee Godby, Samuel Ray Godby, Geneva Randall, and Kathryn Dungan.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Greg Gover and Bro. Shaun Denney officiating.

Burial will follow at Eubank Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12:00 PM until time for services at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home
