Billie Louise Butte, age 89, of Somerset, Kentucky passed away peacefully August 6, 2025 in the Jean Waddle Care Center at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
She was born June 17, 1936 in Goodland, Indiana, daughter of the late Carl and Theta Benner. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 39 years, Arnold "Jr." Butte; brothers, Richard (Betty) Benner, James (Ruth) Benner and sister Dorothy (Chuck) Scearcy.
Billie is survived by her sons, Larry (Betty) Butte of Somerset, and Rick (Paula) Butte of Science Hill; two daughters, Carla Godbey and Glenda (David) Bullock, both of Somerset; grandchildren, Russell (Kristie) Butte, Jason (Kellie) Butte, Matthew (Crissy) Godbey, Adam Godbey, Anthony (Megan) Godbey, Amy (Mark) Witt, Amber (Al) Gager, Jordan (Samantha) Butte and Jacob (Courtney) Butte; step-grandchildren Jessica (Sam) Price, Katherine (Joey) White, and Lucas (Alisha) Taylor; plus a host of great- grandchildren and step great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Ruth Benner of Arkansas, and several nieces and nephews.
Billie was a loving mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.
The family would like to express its thanks to the staff at Somerset Nursing and Rehabilitation and the Jean Waddle Care Center. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Jason Butte & Bro. David Bullock officiating.
Burial will take place at Bethlehem Cemetery with Bro. Matthew Godbey officiating.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until time for services.
Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
