RICHFORD - Louise Celentano, age 96, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2025 at Ave Maria Community Care Home in Richford.
She was born in Des Moines, Iowa on December 19, 1928 to the late Emmette & Jane (Dickson) Willis. Louise was one of 14 children, and the proud sister of Jessie Bell Reviera, Collen Reviera, Faye Harmon, Fern Schnahorst, Lois Halterman, Nellie Goode, Velta Darling, Minie Archer, Betty McCaughey, Maryann Palmer, Grace Bergland, Virginia Collins, and Harold Willis.
Louise grew up and attended schools in Des Moines. She dedicated a significant part of her career to apartment management, where she proudly oversaw 440 units in California, showcasing her remarkable work ethic and commitment to the community. On September 1, 1961, she married the love of her life, Michael Celentano, with whom she shared many joyful years.
In her leisure time, Louise found joy in sewing, crafting, and baking, often filling her home with the aromas of her culinary creations. Her passion for creating and nurturing extended to her family, where she irreplaceably touched the lives of those around her.
Louise is survived by her grandchildren, John Witherspoon and his wife Allison, and Therese Chauvin; great grandchildren, Rose Witherspoon, Jack Witherspoon, Serenity Poissant, Jacob Barnes, Tyler Barnes, and Megan Chauvin; son-in-law, Roger Chauvin; and many nieces & nephews. In addition to her parents, Louise was predeceased by her husband, Michael Celentano; and her daughter, Lois Chauvin.
Friends & family are invited to Louise's life celebration to include a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, August 22, 2025 at 2:00 PM at St. Isidore's Catholic Church, 169 Mountain Road, Montgomery, VT. Interment will follow in St. Isidore's Cemetery in Montgomery.
