Louise Sardy DeCiantis

Born on Dec. 13, 1939 - Departed on Oct. 5, 2025.

LOUISE SARDY DECIANTIS – BELOVED WIFE, MOTHER, SISTER, GRANDMOTHER (SITTEE), AUNT AND FRIEND

Louise Sardy DeCiantis was a true Caregiver in every sense of the word. She was well loved by everyone that came into her life, especially her close family and friends.

She was born on December 13, 1939, in Detroit, MI to Mabarak and Elizabeth Sardy, who were from Tebnine, Lebanon. She was the youngest of seven children: the late Genevieve Letizio (late Guido), the late Emily Courey (late Nick), the late Joseph Sardy (Ghoussoun), the late MaryAnn Lormin (late James), the late Louis Sardy (late Marianne), and John Sardy.

She graduated from St. Augustine High School in 1957 in Detroit. Sometime after high school, she began working at the Cedars of Lebanon in Detroit. It was an exclusive lounge with live musicians and singers. She loved sharing stories about all the famous people that would come in there and the fun times they experienced. These memories are still being shared with some of her lifelong friendships with Patricia Sassine and Sarky Michael to name a few.

Louise was also very proud of being a realtor and dedicated over 40 years to this profession. It was a perfect fit for her, highlighting her warmth, kindness and giving nature. Her passion for helping others culminated into a very successful and long career. She was regularly a Member of the Presidents Club for having high sales.

By far the most important element of Louise's life and what she cherished most was her FAMILY. She was a devoted wife to the late Richard DeCiantis. A caring mother to Denise Palmer (Doug), Tammie DeCiantis (Rich) and Vito DeCiantis. She was a Grandmother (Sittee) to Jessica Bates (Ezekiel), Amanda Palmer (Dominic Dobbins), Melissa Davisson (Ben) and Piper and Leo DeCiantis. She was also a Great Sittee to Noah Bates, Josephine and Vanessa Davisson and Colton Dobbins. If you ever wanted to see her light up with pure happiness and see her smile with her beautiful blue eyes, just ask her about any of her Grandchildren or Great Grandchildren. Also, be ready to block off an extended period of time to sit and listen to all the stories.

After her mother passed away in 1988, Louise immediately took over as the Matriarch of the family. Continuing to follow in her footsteps which included celebrating all the holidays at her house. She was a natural in the kitchen and followed her mother's amazing recipes to perfection. Louise also inherited her mother's strong drive and was able to easily direct people to get things done and prepare for company. If you were in these situations, her finger held tremendous power. With our large extended family, the holidays sometimes took days to accomplish, which was looked at just more time to share together with loved ones. Having all the family piled into her house was her favorite thing and gave her the ultimate joy. She loved just sitting back with a glass of vino and watching how everyone interacted, shared stories, laughed and played games. You could see the pure happiness on her face knowing that she kept honoring her parents' traditions and most importantly kept the family together.

In 1975 Louise and her sister MaryAnn moved to Troy, MI. They ended up (planned) on buying houses right next to each other. She lived there with her parents and daughters. MaryAnn lived next door with her husband and five kids. They made a stone path between the houses which had to be replaced many times over the years. In 1991, MaryAnn unfortunately passed away due to heart failure. Selflessly and seemingly overnight, Louise took on the responsibility of watching over her sister's five adult kids. She always looked out for them and was there for them for anything and everything. They were so grateful to have that special someone in their lives to get advice from, share their day with or to just have fun with. She was a 2nd Mom to them and Louise happily inherited the five of them: Cynthia Young, Donna Black (Micah), Susan Fergan (Robert), the late Jimmy Lormin (Kathleen) and John Lormin. She also became the Sittee to additional Grandchildren; James and Nicholas Young, MaryAnn Hayden (Nolan), Sarah and Luke Black, Robert and Jacob Fergan and Aleah, Maya and J.J. Lormin. Plus, one Great Grandson, Ezra Hayden. She also had many, many other nieces, nephews and cousins who all held a special place in her heart. Everyone had their own Aunt Louise story that they could instantly recall that meant so much to them. Even our extended family and friends would call her "Aunt Louise" as her effortless warmth and kind heart would immediately make you feel like you were a part of her family.

As stated before, Louise was an exceptional caregiver and repeatedly opened up her home, her heart and her time to countless family members and friends. Whether they just needed a place to stay for a short time, long term, health reasons or unexpected life changes, her answer was always the same. Yes, how can I help, do not worry about a thing, we will work it out. Your room is on the left.

Her selflessness was one of her greatest attributes along with her strong Catholic faith. Regularly attending church in person, on television or when traveling. The Lord has always played a big part in her life, and this was instilled in her by her parents who were heavily involved in the church.

Louise always made everyone feel like they were her favorite which gave them an instant connection and created a special bond. She will be deeply missed and, in our memories, forever. The family legacy she created and left behind will only continue to grow stronger in her absence.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, October 9, from 2-8PM with Sharing of Memories by Grandchildren at 6:30PM and Rosary at 7PM, and on Friday, October 10, from 9:30AM until the service at 10AM at A.J. Desmond & Sons 2600 Crooks Rd. Troy. (248) 362-2500.

Final resting place Guardian Angel Cemetery, Rochester.

Memorial mass will be held on Sunday, November 16, at 11AM at Our Lady of Redemption Melkite Catholic Church 29293 Lorraine Ave., Warren.
