Brandon, MS – Betty Louise Rogers, 89 died peacefully at home on Friday morning August 4th, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was born October 24, 1933, in Winona, MS to William Clarence and Willie Mozelle Overstreet.  Louise attended Winona Public Schools and worked to help support her family throughout her teen years.  She met and married her husband of 68 years in 1955, Seth Doyle Rogers.  Seth and Louise settled in Winona, MS following stints in both Hammond, Indiana and Pearl, MS. They ultimately moved to Brandon, MS in 2005 to be closer to their children.

In addition to her parents, Louise is predeceased by sisters Dovie Crowder and Evelyn Laney and brothers John Overstreet and R.C. Overstreet.  Surviving in addition to her husband, Seth are four children, Linda Neal (husband Gene) of Quitman, MS, Terry Rogers (wife Rhonda) of Richland, MS, Jackie Messer (husband Ray) and Seth Rogers, Jr. (wife Beth) of Madison, MS, three sisters, Bobbie Jean Thompson of Winona, Lillian Braswell of Cypress, TX and Linda Faye Beckwith of Winona, MS.  Louise was also blessed with 11 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren.

Louise was a devoted member of Brandon Baptist Church, where she was active in the Senior Adult Sunday School Class.  She attended faithfully every Sunday, only limited by COVID and the frequent, intense back pain.  In addition to being an excellent cook, Louise enjoyed everything about being a homemaker.  She was a kind, loving spouse, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.  She lived a life consumed by taking care of others.

Louise enjoyed gardening and tending to her beautiful flowers until her last days.  She was also an accomplished seamstress, including needlework and quilting. Her goal was to have each of her kids, grandkids and great grandkids their own knitted blankets or quilts. A tremendous feat that she worked tirelessly to achieve.

Louise was happiest when her kids, grandkids and great grandkids were around. Her heartfelt interest in each of their lives was touching and inspiring to us all. Her impact on each of our lives will be forever felt. Each family member, as well as her many friends, knew her to be one of the kindest, gentlest and most caring person they had ever met. She is missed greatly by us all.

A service of remembrance will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday August 7th at Brandon Baptist Church in Brandon, MS. Interment will be at Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Pearl.  The service will be officiated by Rev. Gene Neal, Rev. Gayden Harrell and Rev. Farley Earnest.  The pallbearers are Trey Messer, Cory Messer, Richard Messer, Cody Rogers, Jonathan Robertson, Carl Mitchell and Adam Whalen.  Two of Louise’s favorite Hymns will be performed by one of her grandchildren, Adam Neal.

Special thanks to the entire Accent Care Hospice team, particularly Denise, Kesha, Amber, Jennifer, Theo, Becca, Sarah and Shannon. Their sincerity, professionalism and compassion throughout the final week was much needed and immensely appreciated.

Those who wish to remember Louise in a special way are invited to make gifts in her memory to the Brandon Baptist Church Building Fund, 100 Brandon Baptist Drive, Brandon, MS 39042.
